Founder & Managing Partner

Aleem Ahamed


Aleem is the principal investor in BlueArck and leads all aspects of the firm’s investment process as well as operations. He chairs the board at each of BlueArck’s portfolio companies and is wholly responsible for their ongoing performance and growth.

After spending nearly 10 years in the financial services industry, Aleem joined The Regency Group in 2013 and was responsible for all aspects of the business including the formation of TRG Capital Corp., BlueArck’s predecessor, and the establishment of real estate development operations. Aleem was also responsible for overseeing the rejuvenation and growth of Regency Auto, the firm’s longstanding retail automotive operations, where he became a shareholder in 2013 and divested participation in January 2019.

Prior to that, Aleem worked with Bank of Montreal in a variety of capacities in both Vancouver and Toronto including Corporate Finance, Real Estate Finance and Commercial Banking as well as spending time in Chicago, IL and Milwaukee, WI where he was part of the team that acquired and integrated Marshall & Ilsley Bank. Following his time at Bank of Montreal, Aleem worked with Aver Media LP, a media bank founded in 2006 (majority-owned by HOOPP), where he had responsibilities within Corporate Development and Merchant Banking operations.

Vice President

Alyssa Bosch, CPA, CA, CBV


Alyssa is a core member of BlueArck’s team and has a broad mandate within the firm that includes investment decision-making, due diligence and portfolio management. In addition to these responsibilities, Alyssa leads our FP&A practice and is responsible for accounting, tax, and internal reporting for BlueArck and works with principals on strategic planning and business strategy.

Alyssa joined us in 2020 from VCA Canada where she held the position of Assistant Controller and was responsible for overseeing the preparation of monthly financial statements, supporting stakeholders with financial decision-making and completing valuation and due diligence work for 35 acquisitions over her two and a half year tenure. Prior to VCA, Alyssa spent 6 years at KPMG LLP where she worked in the tax and assurance departments and earned her CPA, CA designation.

Alyssa earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary Haskayne School of Business in 2012 and earned her CBV charter in 2020.

Senior Analyst, Investment Management

Brenna Thomson


Brenna is a contributing member of BlueArck’s investment management team and plays a supporting role in all aspects of the deal execution process, including investment decision-making, due diligence, and portfolio management. Additionally, Brenna supports the VP of Finance with certain FP&A responsibilities including, accounting, tax, and internal reporting for BlueArck.

Prior to joining BlueArck in June 2022, Brenna was an experienced senior associate in the Corporate Finance & Business Development team at KPMG LLP Toronto. She was responsible for understanding high priority industries through market research and supporting all deal origination, pitch, and marketing material preparation, financial due diligence, and market outreach efforts.

Prior to KPMG, Brenna spent 2 years at Deloitte LLP Vancouver, where she worked in the Valuations and Modelling team, supporting stakeholders with financial decision-making and completing valuation and due diligence work for various transactions. Brenna also held roles with Barclays UK in the London office as a Strategy & Operations associate, and Origin Markets, a capital markets fintech start-up, as an analyst.

Brenna holds a Master of Science in Finance and Banking from Cass Business School (London, UK) in 2018, as well as a Bachelor of Management and Organizational Studies, spec. Finance from Western University (London, ON) in 2014. Brenna was a member of the varsity track team at Western and ran professionally for Team Canada after graduating in 2014.

Senior Economist

Joachim Ramm


Joachim joined BlueArck in 2020 and leads our business intelligence practice, providing valuable insights into macroeconomic trends for our investment team and leaders across the organization. Joachim helps to formulate the firm’s investment thesis, supports the investment process and portfolio management with strategic, macroeconomic guidance and forecasting, and leads our ESG initiative.

Before his time with BlueArck, Joachim was a Senior Economic Analyst with the BC Ministry of Finance Treasury Board Staff where he led and produced high quality research and analysis to identify and mitigate risk, monitor progress, identify trends and communicate complex information to various stakeholders. He also held roles with the BC government including Economist at the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development and as an Economic Analyst with the LNG Task Force. Prior to immigrating to Canada in 2015, Joachim was an Advisor to the Ministry of Local Government and Modernization in Oslo, Norway.

Joachim holds a Master of Arts in Economics from the University of Bergen (Norway) as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Tromsø (Norway).

Director, Finance

Sam Badiei


Sam oversees accounting, internal reporting, and systems administration for BlueArck.  She also participates in the due diligence process of new portfolio companies.  Prior to joining the firm, Sam earned her Chartered Accountant designation with MNP and currently serves as the Director of Finance with the HR Macmillan Space Centre.

In addition to her CA designation, Sam attended Simon Fraser University where she obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Accounting.
